Gratitude Documented: A Bible Journaling Kit Review

Join me in November, with daily gratitude posts, grab your kit using the affiliate links below!  We will have a digital study group so be sure to message me if you want to join. Or just join the group here!

Gratitude Documented is bit of a tradition in the Illustrated Faith community and this year will be my first time to join in! I would love to have you join me so comment below or shoot me a message through Instagram or Facebook (choose your favorite platform!) and I’ll add you to our group.

This Bible Journaling Kit is a sampling of the larger Gratitude Documented line and can be used alongside the November devotional kit, a free list of prompts, or just on it’s own using the tip-in prompts and Scripture references provided in the kit itself. I’ll let you all know about the prompts when they are available, so stay tuned! It really is a choose your own adventure, one that I know you will be glad you joined in on. I am so looking forward to using the month of November to express my gratitude to the Lord, interacting with His Word, and growing in my relationship with God. I see November as a quieter time in the holiday season and I think this is the perfect preparation for the consumer driven Christmas season. What better way to remind ourselves of all we have been given.

I read this Scripture today as part of the daily Scripture writing I do in my faith planner. It really got me thinking about how I can disengage from the consumerism of the holiday season, work to covet less and be more content, and to pass that on to my kids. This is such a tough one, but I think a month of gratitude can really help!

Luke 12:15
15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

I’ll share my faith planner sometime with you all too – but check out the actual planner I use here. It starts with July 2017 so you aren’t too late to try it! I keep our family schedule on the “monthly view” and then write a daily verse on the weekly layout.

What I love about this kit is a great price point for some awesome tools that you really can use it in so many ways. I could use pieces in my faith planner, along side my November entries done with prompts in my journaling Bible, or use the prompts on the tip-ins and the Scripture references to just dive in when I have time to documenting my gratitude. Let’s look at the design elements.

This kit provides:

  • 3 cardstock sticker sheets, 136 stickers
  • 1 clear sticker sheet, 20 stickers
  • 39 die-cut pieces
  • 1 roll washi tape, 36′
  • 1 tip-ins booklet, 24 pages – 12 designs

I love the colors scheme and that while for sure having fall themed elements like leaves and acorns even those are versatile in color and style.

And the tip-in booklet has great prompts! There are two sets of the same 12 tip ins so you can use them in corresponding entries on 2 different references, use them separately to see how your responses change, or you could use them to encourage someone and give them away. And speaking of encouraging others, I’m taking on the Encouragement Dare and would love you to join me September 10-15 of 2017 in honor of National Encouragement day! I can provide more information if you are interested. Any way back to the tip-ins… they are just so versatile. Take a look at my unboxing video to see how to add these tip-ins as a flap in the margin of your journaling Bible.

The cardstock stickers are made on thicker, opaque paper and I love the print on the alphabet and numeric stickers. It looks almost fabric like. I also love the size as they are different then the smaller alpha stickers we have seen in monthly kits. And the clear stickers (far right, smaller sheet) just meld right into your design and have a more resistant texture so are best used in your design at the very end when you paint or background is dry.

And then there are the paper bits and pieces – sold separately too. I recently discovered, see that live in my unboxing video, that each paper piece has a Scripture reference on the back and this is a perfect place to start your journaling or entry. These references really make it possible to create entries right from this kit! I can’t wait to dive in and do a month of journaling with some of you. Don’t forget to comment below or shoot me a message if you want to join our group. You can snag your own Gratitude Documented Bible Journaling Kit here and stay tuned for the prompts in November! They should be out by October 23, 2017 and you can check for it here! That is the kit I’ll be doing in my month long online “gratitude documented” group on Facebook. Join us here.

Isaiah 12:3-6

3 With joy you will drink deeply
    from the fountain of salvation!
In that wonderful day you will sing:
“Thank the Lord! Praise his name!
Tell the nations what he has done.
Let them know how mighty he is!
Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world.
Let all the people of Jerusalem[a] shout his praise with joy!
For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.”
