Holiday Update

I cannot believe that this blog has been so neglected! And yet… I can. With all that life has thrown our way plus another blog up and running this one just fell by the wayside.

For now here is our Holiday Update. Stay tuned for more!

Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings

From The Benjamin Jacobson Clan

Our house continues to be a busy place. To say the least! Alex is in her fourth year of teaching at CKA and has found that this group of First Grade Friends has stolen her heart. With Benjamin working full time at The Holiday Inn, part time at Gateway Fellowship, and going to school full time he is a busy man. The Holiday Inn has been a wonderful change for Benjamin since he started there in June. He loves working for Micah, his boss and friend, and has found that it provides some down time to read and write maintaining an almost perfect GPA! In September we made a huge change and Benjamin became part of the staff at Christ Memorial Church, which has since changed its name to Gateway Fellowship, as a Music Associate. He completed his Associates Degree at Olympic College in April and is also almost half way through his Bachelor’s of Arts in Ministry Leadership at Northwest College. He is truly remarkable.

Our pets continue to bring life and joy to our home. Ipa-Mae and Marley-Moe are energetic and continuously make us laugh while Dosey-Doe is the most loveable cat around and tends to be favored by all. 🙂 We are also busy continuing our hobbies of cake making, cooking, geo caching, themed parties, time with our small groups, playing Settler’s of Catan (a new favorite past time) and travel. We even took an adventurous trip to Oahu, Hawaii to celebrate our 2 year anniversary in June.

Benjamin continues to pursue his love of music, including writing originals, and is even reworking his studio this winter. Alex fills her time with choir; Women & Wine, a women’s small group that she started a year ago; maintaining our beautiful downtown home and yard; and also just took on a new role as a camp director for Cascade Camp Cedarbrook, a camp she attended for 13 years as a camper and 4 as a staff member. cascadecampcedarbrook.com

Finishing out a year filled with friends and family we feel more fulfilled and like we have found our place. The Lord knew just what we would need and continues to amaze us with his provision. Benjamin is still a part of a research program at Virginia Mason’s Benaroya Research Institute, and on December 8, 2010 he was given a very positive report on his overall health and diabetes. They are impressed that his body is maintaining insulin production (Which may be thanks to the drug they are testing! Be praying with us!) Again we see God’s provision and faithfulness.

Family, friends, and friends who are family – a theme of community this year! Spending quality time with those we love and encourage us to be more like Christ has been our greatest joy. The ladies of Women & Wine, our beloved small group, family and circle of friends are God’s greatest gift to us. We are honored to call you a part of our life and love doing life together as we are on His mission. Love and prayers!

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another” Hebrews 10:24-25
