Connectedness is a gift. As I’ve seen connectedness in my relationships but also between my mind, body, and spirit I am reminded what a blessing it is to see God orchestrate our lives. Our weekend came to a close and I sat with Maggie on the airplane pouring over our weekend’s notes. I was struck by how similar she and I are and how connected our spirits are. Praying together, praying for each other, being there for each other in challenging times, and then having an experience like this one, in which we both entered with expectant hearts. It binds us together.
Shared experiences can do that. Bind you with someone, deepening a friendship, and I have found that for me they increase my opportunities to learn from others. While I was on this hiatus and even in the weeks leading up to this getaway God was speaking to both my husband and myself. He was preparing us for what he had next for us. And in that we were connected. When God speaks to me and also to someone around me, I find myself connected in a totally different way. Sitting around a table with girlfriends, we are connected us as we share authentically and are vulnerable with each other, smashing loneliness to pieces. Interconnected lives and hearts.
The moments when something I’m learning connects:
A phrase from Scripture pops out,
A word I’ve been studying stamps an imprint on my heart,
Someone encourages me – their words directly from the Lord.
It all seems to collide, and I see true connectedness.
What if I realized… I may miss it all if I’m not present.
Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the ore as you see the Day drawing near.”
Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens,and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
