The October Bible Journaling Kit by DaySpring Cards and Illustrated Faith might be my favorite yet! Not only is the content challenging and leads me further into God’s Word but the beautiful and simple design is so inspiring. The kit is on point for trends but also has a classic nature. The coral and pinks are so pretty and yet the stark black and white elements are versatile and classy. It’s called “#WordNerd” and you can find it all over social media using “#IF_wordnerd.” I know if you take a look you’ll be adding it to your cart.

You can also learn more about Bible journaling here. And see all of my faith related posts here.

I love the envelopes these kit come in, and I plan to use them to house paper pieces and Illustrated Print and Pray pieces when I’m done using up as much of the kit as I can!

Here are the logistics:
Content:
Week 1 – Hello my name is…
Week 2 – Total Recall
Week 3 – Set Free
Week 4 – Food for thought

Product Details:

  • 1 clear stamp collection
  • 1 roll of washi tape
  • 1 thank you card from Shanna
  • 1 package of paper pieces (29 pieces)
  • 2 sheets of translucent stickers
  • 4 devotional cards
  • 4 journaling cards

The small stamp set is so versatile and I love that the handwriting type script and that there are two phrases in varying sizes!

The four devotional cards are such a great launching point and you could easily get 2 or more entries from each one. The questions leave you pondering, and diving into God’s Word more which is exactly why I Bible journal! I’m really enjoying that this is not a devotional focused on a particular topic but instead is looking at how to engage with the Bible as a while, how to become a “Bible Book Nerd.”  I have literally been pondering the first two weeks daily and find the themes fitting in with other studies and books I’m involved in. That is the best kind of content!

The four journaling cards have their own prompts and Scriptures so they will lead you to additional entries and if you watch my unboxing video I also talk about how I’d use them to create entries in terms of the design elements.

Clear stickers might be my new favorite thing! You can still see text through them, they bring so much flair to the page and add color, script, drawings, and designs that you just can’t replicate yourself. They just add that extra depth to your page! (I just tried something new and purchased some of the Illustrated Faith Print & Pray sheets and printed them onto Avery Label paper to replicate this concept. Stay tuned for some fun Fall themed entries!)

These paper pieces are just darling. Some large and bold while others are small and softer. I love how they extended the theme of “words” to books and bookmarks – and then to the darling coffee and drink cups. I know I’m not alone in associating The Good Book with a good cup of coffee – a refresh for your spirit and a pick me up for the body too!

This kit as a whole is fresh, flirty, inspiring, and also so classic. How can they keep doing this – original, on trend, and yet totally understated (in the best possible way!) I hope you will grab a kit but if you’re still not convinced take a look at the unboxing which will give you an even closer look. You can get lots of supply links over on my YouTube channel too. Here is my week one entry. I saw what Lindsey of Lindsey Decor did when she traced the week one devotional card into the page of her Bible and just could not resist! That silhouette is just too cute. Can’t you just identify with that top knot?! I used a neocolor pastel crayon that let me just trace, fill in with color, and brush on water for the complete watercolor look.

I just slipped the devotional card under the page like Lindsey suggested, taped it in place and voila there she is on my page.

Brushed lightly with water for the watercolor effect. (Be careful too much water will rip your pages.)
I also used a tab punch and the “word” stamp from the kit to create the perfect tabbie! I punched the bottom of the actual devotional card where I’d not effect the text since I love it so much and it turned out perfectly!
