Airmail Christmas

This year I participated in a fun penpal experience for Christmas. It’s a program called Airmail Christmas that I discovered through my blogger friend Callie of Through Clouded Glass. It is put on by Rebecca  of the blog Making Memories and done in the memory of Mama MB and for her daughter Doria.

It was pretty simple, all you did was put a Christmas card in the mail to an assigned penpal. And sometime later you received a card yourself. I was really excited to receive mine via airmail all the way from Australia!

It arrived a little damaged but despite that it made my day receiving mail from such a far away place. It reminded me that people all over the world are celebrating this time of year, and of all the wonderful blessings that the holidays bring to our families.
Thank you Jo-Anne for participating!
It also inspired me to have a 2014 penpal. I decided to write with a friend who lives a bit too far for me to see frequently. We will send words of encouragement, cards, notes, and small gifts throughout the year.
I don’t think snail mail should be a lost form of communicating and I want to enjoy it!
