Encourage Each Other: it’s a dare

So this week I’ll be coming at you with bits of encouragement. My goal here on Inspiration Clothesline is always to inspire you! My hope… that you can relate, find yourself in something I share, or identify in some way. This week I am hoping I can encourage your heart and mind – maybe you need a pick me up, maybe it’s an encouragement to try something new or give up something old. It’s possible my outlook on something might encourage you to see something in a new light. I have no idea where this may go, but I am hopeful you will be encouraged and in turn can do the same for someone around you.

I hope you’ll use the affiliate links included in this post to be inspired and more equipped.

Yesterday I shared about “Pressing Reset” when I had one heckuva day at home with my kids. Read about the runaway chicken here. Those days hit us all and while we may be overwhelmed with discouragement, unable to shake the blues or trying to stay positive, I truly believe in the Power of Postitive Thinking and the power of prayer.

I’m going to be taking the  #EncouragementDare and partnering with DaySpring this week to encourage my neighbors, community members, friends and family around me. I started by prepping some cards yesterday and I’m going to create a few more today.

It’s so simple, just grab those leftover thank you notes you have stashed away or those adorable “dollar bin” cards you have hoarded from Target. Write them now and put them in your mailbox, stick them in the car so you can write one in the school pick up line or while your gas tank fills, or write a note to a teacher, pastor, or coworker to hide on their desk. You can mail them, drop them on a doorstep, or even put them in the hands of those around you. It might be a specific encouragement to a person you know and love, or a more general quote or Scripture reference you could give to a complete stranger, even someone behind you in the drive thru! Plus there are so many other fun ways to encourage others…

This Tuesday, September 12, is also the National Day of Encouragement which was created in 2007 as a chance for all of us to encourage those around us. “Reach beyond your comfort zone and take action.” DaySpring made it even easier by providing their Free Encouragement Kit that is filled with fun tips, free downloads and more.

I also have a Facebook Group, that will just be active for these five days, so you can join with others and share your ideas and how you accepted the dare. Join us here. If you do take on this challenge I hope you’ll use the hastag (#encouragementdare) and tag me in your social media posts! @inspirationclothesline as it will be an encouragement to me too.

“He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.  Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always,  pray continually,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:10-18
