April is the month we find out if we are having a boy or a girl Baby J! And yes it is confirmed that there is only one coming our way this fall.
We are so excited. I originally did not want to know, but as time has passed it has become clearer that we are going to have a hard time settling on a name for this sweet little one and we both figured that knowing the gender might help narrow our thinking. However, since we love gender neutral names SO much it may not help too much in the long run. 🙂
Plus there is so much in life that my husband is easy going about. He is so laid back and a lot of times just doesn’t have a strong opinion. On this one… he had a strong opinion. He wanted to know.
So…. to celebrate we are having a party on April 28th called “Waddle it be?” and we are revealing the gender to family and close friends then! It was inspired by some things we saw on Pinterest. The difference here is that even WE the expectant parents won’t know the gender. Our ultrasound is this coming Tuesday, April 10th. At that point we are asking the ultrasound technician to write “it’s a _____” in two cards. These cards will get mailed the third week of April to the two Aunties. B and I each have a sister so they get to know FIRST. They will prepare a reveal for the party and then on April 28th everyone else will find out at the same time!
It’s crazy and like nothing I expected it would be. But we can’t wait.
Plus it’s our way of honoring all the first time grandparents, and aunties and uncles. This is the first baby for EVERYONE in this generation and we wanted to honor as many people who will invest in his/her life with a special celebration. I can’t wait to share with all of you. In the meantime I thought I would share some photos taken my a dear friend, and incredible photographer David Raley. HE had some help from his clever and talented wife Heather Raley. To date this is the most comfortable I have felt sharing my new shape and this burgeoning belly of mine!
It is fun to share this special time with so many creative people and to utilize their ideas and skills.
In the meantime, why don’t you weigh in. Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?!
